Despite its appearance, New Star GP has much more going for it than a Virtua Racing-style game. Dig a little deeper, and you'll discover something entirely different yet still enjoyable. There are a lot of similarities between the graphics and the Sega Arcade Racer, which add textures to the low polygon count. This makes the game look awesome. The game relies heavily on bright colors to make up for the lack of real round objects. Add some particle effects like sparks and triangles that avoid crashing into one another. The game maintains a high frame rate that really captures the feel of the old arcade games. Ultrawide support is very helpful for everyone using those monitors. As for the sound system, it justamzing. A retro-style soundtrack includes more upbeat synthwave elements reminiscent of racing titles of the 1990s, while still maintaining the high tempo that racing titles require. The number of tracks is very welcome
